It’s historical roots grew from an artist’ colony in the Cathedral Cove neighborhood almost 100 years ago, with such famous residents as Agnes Pelton, Val Samuelson, and Matille Prigge Seamen. More than 70 artists still call Cathedral City home, enticing collectors to its many fine art and decor galleries.
Visitors come for the resorts and restaurants, majestic mountains, desert flora, and scenic golf courses, while numerous festivals tempt them to stay. The Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival, Taste of Jalisco, Cathedral City LGBT Days, and a portion of the Palm Springs International Film Festival unfolds in the Downtown Arts and Entertainment district. Cathedral City is a perfect mix between the bustle of Palm Springs and the artistic community.
