This home, known primarily as Elrod’s “Escape” House, is a four-bedroom, five-bath home sitting just around the corner from the home owned by Leonardo Di Caprio and just down the street from the historic Kirk Douglas house. This home was built in 1968 by the architect John Lautner, for Arthur Dea Elrod, Jr. who was an American interior designer. The 4,78 square foot home has been well preserved to continue the tradition of mind-century-modern interior design that Elrod was famous for. Elrod loved experimenting with all the different textures and finishes which is primarily what he became known for. He also was big on very long, sinuous sofas (which you can see in the living room photo).
This home is a step back in time! And perfect for midcentury modern fans who were able to stay in this home as a vacation rental.
