Some fiancés are switching gears from nuptials to Home Shopping.
This is amazing – especially during this time! I cannot imagine how upsetting it is for couples who are unable to celebrate there in the way we are so accustomed to as a society. From wedding flowers, and dinners, to dresses and numerous guests, the wedding industry is estimated to be worth $72 billion as of 2019.
In today's “new-normal” wedding ceremonies are becoming virtual or taking a whole new shape in the form of “Home Buying”!
According to a recent article from the Wall Street Journal, a couple by the name of Phil Bassis and Carly Catalana, decided to do something unexpected: buy a home. They knew the Covid-19 crisis had likely shifted the market toward buyers and they hoped they might recoup some of the deposits for their wedding celebration (Gaffney, WSJ).
The Coronavirus is changing the way couples are spending their wedding deposits, towards homeownership. There is no doubt that this is an incredibly smart move and investment for young couples developing equity and saving for their future!
Would you buy a home instead of having a wedding ceremony?
