We can now eat out! ….sorta… and things will definitely be different.
After 10-week shelter-in-place, and numerous home cooked meals, take-out, and *pacing the kitchen*, we can go out HERE in the Desert to eat!
Here is what the dinning-in guidelines look like now:
- PPE: Face Coverings for employees
- Reservations to manage capacity and at times limit capacity
- Touch-less pay options
- No pre-set table
- Disposable paper menus
- Single-use salt and pepper shaker packets or any added condiments
- Cleaning! Cleaning! Increased cleaning protocol s
- Partitions Plexiglass partitions at ordering counters
- Varies….some restraints will have added precaution or choose for a more cautious approach.
So where can we go eat???
Here is a List of Restaurants that have reopened to dine-in customers:
Chef Georgel’s Restaurant
The Hungarian restaurant and lounge restarted its dine-in service on May 23. For now, live music is on hold, according to announcement on its Facebook page.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m.

The Southern Belle Café
The southern restaurant is open to dine-in guests as of Saturday.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The cafe is open on Memorial Day.

The Nest
Guests will notice changes, like no pre-set table, disposable menus, and single-use salt and pepper shaker packets. The owners purchased a no-touch faucet for the restroom. Customers are being asked to wear masks, except while theyl’re eating.
Pre-pandemic, there was dancing every night, but that is on pause for now, Henry said.
The Nest opens for dine-in reservations at 5 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant throughout the day at 760.346.2314.

The Palms
Co-owner Efrain Mendoza announced the reopening of the La Quinta restaurant beginning Saturday. “We are taking all the recommended safety measures and will require customers and staff to wear face coverings,” Mendoza said in an email to The Desert Sun.

Cork & Fork
Open hours are Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Reservations are highly recommended — staff be limiting seating to maintain social distance. The restaurant asks that patrons donl’t go in if theyl’re sick. They require mask usage when walking in and out and while using the restroom.

Grill-A-Burger
The burger joint in Palm Desert reopened full service dining on May 23.
The restaurant is following certain protocols for customer and staff safety, according to a post on Grill-A-Burgerl’s Instagram. Patrons must wear masks, except when seated at a table, use their personal phone to review the menu (online ordering is also available) and wait outside, or in car, until their table is ready.
Hours are Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Little Bar
The Palm Desert restaurant and bar reopened its dining room and patio on May 23.
Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Times may change in the next few weeks.

Pierol’s Pizzavino
The Italian restaurant on El Paseo began dine-in service on May 23.
Staff is wearing masks and sanitizing all surfaces regularly for the safety of employees and customers, owner Sheri Pierattoni said. The bar area currently remains closed.
The eatery is open 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

Happy Sushi
Full dining service will be available starting Saturday, owner Su Chow said in an email to The Desert Sun. The restaurant will be open noon to 9:30 p.m.

Las Casuelas Terraza
Reservations must be made ahead of time by calling 760.325.2794 or online at resy.com. Masks will be required at the restaurant. Take-out orders are also available from the restaurantl’s to-go center, Pronto, by calling the same number.

Mr. Lyons
Mr. Lyons is accepting dine-in reservations Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. Reservations can be made online at mrlyonsps.com/?mailchimp. “Our team is taking all precautions and putting procedures in place to keep you and our team members healthy and happy,” an announcement from the restaurant reads. “We have lowered the capacity of our dining room, so please book your reservation ahead of your arrival and we will do our best to accommodate you.”

Sunshine Cafe
Staff is wearing masks and sanitizing all surfaces regularly for the safety of employees and customers. However their is limited seating space and customers are seated far apart from one another.
