There is so much to do before Thanksgiving this year!! Honestly, now that the desert seems to be going back to normal with events popping up as out-of-towners make their way back to the Desert.

Here are some AMAZING Events to check out this month:

CATHEDRAL CITY HOT AIR BALLOON & FOOD TRUCK FIESTA: Nov. 19-21, 2021
The 7th Annual Balloon Festival is three days of activities for the whole family that include balloon tether rides, nighttime balloon glows, romantic dinners, live musical entertainment, gourmet food trucks, Kids’ Zone, Art Show, outdoor market, family-friendly activities and so much more!  Proceeds from the ticketed events will be donated to SEAthletes Foundation to benefit the valley’s youth and to promote recreation at the Salton Sea. SUNNYLANDS CELEBRATES DAYS OF LOS MUERTOS: NOV 3-7
A five-day celebration at the Rancho Mirage location includes a screening of the film, Coco, on Nov. 5 and a one-hour performance by Danza Azteca Citlatonac dance troupe on Nov. 7.

HEALING FIELD, PATRIOT PARK IN CATHEDRAL CITY: NOV. 6
The annual event is co-sponsored by the Cathedral City Noon and Evening Rotary Clubs, which collect donations from the community to purchase and store American flags and other materials for the annual event. See an amazing display of American flag starting Nov. 6 through Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11.

LA QUINTA ART CELEBRATION: NOV. 12
At the La Quinta Civic Center Park, 200 artists showcase paintings, sculptures, photographs, fiber crafts, jewelry, and more. Fuel up for a day of searching for a masterpiece with eats from local restaurants and sips from the champagne bar. laquintaartcelebration.org

COMMUNITY OLIVE PICKING: NOV. 14
Say “olive you” to this fun family activity at Highland Springs Ranch & Inn in Cherry Valley (a half hour from Palm Springs). Harvest olives the old-fashioned way — by hand — and receive free tickets or drink vouchers for the farm’s Christmas Nights event.

FALL FAMILY FESTIVAL: NOV. 21
Celebrate the season of pumpkins, cozy sweaters, and apple cider at this free festival at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta. Little ones will have the chance to make crafts and pet critters.

THANKSGIVING DAY VIRTUAL 5K: NOV. 25
This traditional Thanksgiving Day race down El Paseo in Palm Desert has gone virtual for 2021. Register and create your own 5K run or walk to support services for the unhoused from Martha’s Village & Kitchen.

YOGA ON THE GREAT LAWN, NOV. 23
Every Friday, November through April, the historic Sunnylands Center & Gardens (where countless presidents and leaders have stayed) hosts free afternoon yoga on the expansive grounds. Bring the family and work off some of that turkey.

WILDLIGHTS, NOV. 23–DEC.24
Nearly a million twinkling lights deck The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens for WildLights, a holiday season mainstay in the Coachella Valley. Stroll the string-lit pathways, ride a camel, and check out the model trains with more than 3,300 feet of specially decorated track.

THE GRINCH: NOV. 27
Bring your cheer to The Gardens on El Paseo for the first of four family holiday movie nights. Be sure to bundle up the little ones and bring blankets to this outdoor showing of The Grinch.
